Christophe Clark – Biography and filmography

Biography

A French adult film actor

Christophe Clark, also credited as Christoph Clark, is a French porn actor, director and producer, born Gilbert Grosso on 9 February 1958. He began shooting films in the early 1980s. His first professional period included work with Marc Dorcel and Michel Renaud. Both spellings of his stage name appear in catalogues and refer to the same professional rather than separate careers.^[1][5]

Budapest and production work

He moved to Budapest in 1991 and established his production company Euro Angel. That move linked his French background with another European filming centre. He subsequently developed a relationship with John Stagliano’s Evil Angel, which distributed his work. He began directing for the distributor in 1997.

His productions include Euro Angels, Beautiful Girls and Nasty Intentions. He also worked for Private in the late 1990s. His catalogue spans performing, directing and producing. An acting appearance and a directing credit may concern the same film rather than two separate works.^[5][6]

Awards and continuing directing work

He entered the AVN Hall of Fame in 2002 and the XRCO Hall of Fame in 2008. In 2009 he received an AVN directing award for Nasty Intentions 2. These distinctions concern different aspects of his background, from an overall career to a particular directing project.

He also directed DXK in 2011. Public catalogues document directing work developed over a long period after his beginnings as an actor in France. His biography therefore extends beyond his performing credits.^[1][5][6]

Studios and documented professional credits

The catalogue for Christophe Clark includes studio labels such as Evil Angel, Private, Anabolic. These names come from the title references and provide a route through the production or distribution networks associated with this career. The directory records 250 acting credits, 153 directing credits, keeping each professional function separate. The same title can therefore account for more than one credit. These figures describe the entries currently documented here; they are neither a count of new shoots nor a measure of career length. Original productions, reissues and compilations need to be distinguished using the individual references. A studio label alone does not establish an exclusive contract or an employer relationship.^[24]

Career and professional background

The director-producer model

Within Evil Angel’s model, Christophe Clark owns the films he creates while the distributor handles manufacturing, promotion, distribution and sales. This arrangement clarifies the difference between his production company and the label marketing the titles. It also explains why several company names may be associated with a film without representing the same professional function.^[5]

Series developed over time

His directing work developed through series as well as standalone releases. Euro Angels, Beautiful Girls and Nasty Intentions are among the bodies of work associated with his name. Connections with Budapest, Evil Angel and Private place his catalogue within a European market supported by international distribution. Dated catalogue credits distinguish stages of production, editions of films and professional roles. Moving into production did not remove his earlier or parallel acting credits.^[5][6]
