Biography
From Bordeaux to French productions
Lou Charmelle is a French porn actress born on 8 October 1983 in Périgueux. She worked as a nursing assistant before entering adult cinema in 2008. At an erotic fair in Bordeaux, she enquired about modelling and met director Fabien Lafait. The meeting soon led to work on Serveuses à la carte, one of the early reference points in her filmography.
She subsequently worked with French directors including John B. Root, Hervé Bodilis, Ovidie and Yannick Perrin. Her credits include Dis-moi que tu m'aimes and other productions from the late 2000s and early 2010s. These collaborations placed her work within different professional networks, from individual directors' films to studio catalogues.[1][2]
Films, television and international work
In 2008, she appeared in À ses pieds, directed by Mélanie Laurent for the X femmes collection. This participation accompanied collaborations with Ovidie and Jack Tyler. She therefore worked on projects led by directors with different professional backgrounds and made for different distribution formats.
From 2010, her career also included shoots in the United States. Canal+'s retrospective distinguishes this international stage from her French beginnings and later self-produced work. She announced a break from filming in 2012 and returned to video production in 2017. Jamais sans toi, dated 2021, is among the films documenting this later period.[1][2]
Studios and documented professional credits
The catalogue for Lou Charmelle includes studio labels such as Evil Angel, Kick Ass, Immoral Productions. These names come from the title references and provide a route through the production or distribution networks associated with this career. The directory records 93 acting credits, keeping each professional function separate. The same title can therefore account for more than one credit. These figures describe the entries currently documented here; they are neither a count of new shoots nor a measure of career length. Original productions, reissues and compilations need to be distinguished using the individual references. A studio label alone does not establish an exclusive contract or an employer relationship.[2][4]

Career and professional background
A break followed by a return
Lou Charmelle announced a career break in 2012. According to Canal+'s retrospective, she then worked on organising techno events before resuming video activity in 2017. These dates distinguish her first studio years from later projects. They do not mean that every release sold during the intervening period involved a new shoot: production activity and catalogue distribution follow different chronologies.[1]
Self-production and new films
Her return included self-produced videos as well as appearances in films such as Jamais sans toi. Her professional development connects early collaborations with French directors, American productions and work in which she produces some content herself. Canal+'s retrospective follows this evolution beyond the titles of the early 2010s. It documents a career involving both an interruption and a change in the organisation of production.[1]
