Biography

An Italian actress born in Genoa

Moana Pozzi was an Italian pornographic actress and television personality, born in Genoa on 27 April 1961 and deceased in Lyon on 15 September 1994. Her work also included comedies, television productions and non-pornographic films. Before becoming widely known as Moana, she used several screen names, including Margaux Jobert and Linda Hevert.[1][2][3][4]

Rome, early films and Diva Futura

After moving to Rome as a young adult, she studied at the Accademia Fersen and obtained small film and advertising roles. Her appearance in Erotic Flash dates to 1981. Adult shoots subsequently alternated with roles in mainstream Italian cinema. Joining Diva Futura in 1986 marked another stage. Riccardo Schicchi became an important collaborator, including on Fantastica Moana and Moana, la bella di giorno, which put her first name directly into their titles.[1][3][5]

Books, television and fiction

Alongside adult cinema, Moana Pozzi maintained a presence in the Italian media. Television appearances and public activities extended beyond her screen characters. She published La filosofia di Moana in 1991 and took part in founding the Partito dell’Amore. In 1992 she played the lead in Amami, directed by Bruno Colella. That film provides a separate reference point in her acting career alongside adult productions and their compilations. Her credits include Italian and American productions, as well as works distributed under more than one title. These public activities developed in parallel.[1][2][3]

Studios and documented professional credits

The catalogue for Moana Pozzi includes studio labels such as Sin City, VCA, Sinister. These names come from the title references and provide a route through the production or distribution networks associated with this career. The directory records 51 acting credits, keeping each professional function separate. The same title can therefore account for more than one credit. These figures describe the entries currently documented here; they are neither a count of new shoots nor a measure of career length. Original productions, reissues and compilations need to be distinguished using the individual references. A studio label alone does not establish an exclusive contract or an employer relationship.[5]

Career and professional background

From small roles to a star identity

Moana Pozzi’s early credits belong to Italian cinema of the early 1980s. Small parts in comedies and popular productions preceded the Diva Futura period. Under Riccardo Schicchi, her first name became part of the way several films were marketed. That development accounts for the coexistence of earlier pseudonyms, her full name and titles built around Moana in period catalogues.[1][3][5]

A career beyond adult films

The 1991 book, her involvement in the Partito dell’Amore and the leading role in Amami demonstrate several concurrent public activities. Television and non-pornographic film were not simply a later chapter following retirement from adult work: the different fields overlapped. Her death in 1994 ended a short career, while reissues and compilations continued to enter catalogues. Their publication dates therefore do not necessarily indicate newly filmed work.[1][2][3]
