Biography

An Italian actor in European cinema

Roberto Malone is an Italian pornographic actor and director, born in Turin on 31 October 1956. His work includes Italian, French and other European productions. Credits use several variations of his professional name, together with Bob Holmes and Roberto Mel. These names belong to his screen career and do not necessarily identify different people in film catalogues.[1][5]

Collaborations in French adult cinema

He worked in scripted films and different production settings within European adult cinema. French credits include Cyberix and Sextet by John B. Root. Cyberix dates to 1996, followed by Sextet in 1997, providing two successive references for his work with the French director. He also appeared in Les Visiteuses, La Comtesse Gamiani and Emmanuelle au 7ème ciel, recorded in general film catalogues. La Comtesse Gamiani credits him as Alcide; in Les Visiteuses he plays the comte de Montplaisyr.[2][3][4]

Cinema roles and parody

His filmography also includes an appearance in Catherine Breillat’s Romance alongside other performers from adult cinema. In 2011 he played the lead in DXK, whose central character is named David Sex King. The production is a parody and should not be presented as a biographical document. Together these works show different uses of his acting: adult fiction, a part in a cinema feature and a parody character. He also has directing credits, separate from works in which his involvement is only as an actor.[1][2][3][5]

Studios and documented professional credits

The catalogue for Roberto Malone includes studio labels such as Private, Evil Angel, In-X-Cess. These names come from the title references and provide a route through the production or distribution networks associated with this career. The directory records 150 acting credits, keeping each professional function separate. The same title can therefore account for more than one credit. These figures describe the entries currently documented here; they are neither a count of new shoots nor a measure of career length. Original productions, reissues and compilations need to be distinguished using the individual references. A studio label alone does not establish an exclusive contract or an employer relationship.[5]

Career and professional background

A career crossing national borders

Roberto Malone’s birthplace does not describe every location or team with which he worked. His credits connect Italy with French directors and productions. Work with John B. Root provides one example, while La Comtesse Gamiani and Les Visiteuses belong to other films and casts. This range does not justify attributing all his appearances to one studio or one filming period.[1][2][3][4]

Characters and professional functions

Catalogues sometimes identify fictional characters, including Alcide in La Comtesse Gamiani and David Sex King in DXK. Those names belong to the fiction and are not the actor’s professional aliases. Bob Holmes and Roberto Mel, by contrast, are credit names he used. Separating professional identity, fictional character and position in a film’s credits helps trace work that includes both performance and directing.[1][2][5]
